PCTFE resin is a homopolymer of trifluorochloroethylene, with a structure containing fluorine and chlorine atoms surrounding the main carbon chain. The fluorine atoms in the molecular structure give the polymer chemical inertness, while the chlorine atoms give it transparency, thermoplasticity, and hardness.

PCTFE resin is a thermoplastic that can be melt-processed, but its high melt viscosity requires relatively high processing temperatures and pressures to achieve sufficient processing fluidity. Furthermore, because its processing temperature (250–320℃) is very close to its decomposition temperature (around 300℃), PCTFE has an extremely narrow processing temperature range.
Mechanical properties: High compressive strength, low cold flow, and relatively high compression rebound rate, exhibiting good elastic recovery force.
Thermal properties: The melting temperature (Tm) is 211-216℃, glassy state temperature (Tg) is 71-99℃. Long-term operating temperature should be kept below 130℃, if exceeds 200℃, it will gradually decompose and be damaged.
Low-temperature resistance: It does not become brittle or creep in liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, and liquefied natural gas.
Corrosion resistance: It is stable to almost all organic solvents at room temperature, but at high temperatures, it dissolves or swells in organic solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, benzene, and toluene.
Impermeability: Among all plastics, PCTFE resin has the lowest water vapor permeability and does not permeate with any gas, making it an excellent barrier polymer.
Electrical properties: It has excellent insulation resistance and dielectric breakdown voltage, and is almost unaffected by temperature or humidity.
Optical properties: Excellent high transparency
Weather resistance: No effect from long-term outdoor exposure
Flame retardancy: Oxygen index up to 95%, same as PTFE, non-flammable
