PVDF Injection Molding

PVDF injection molding is a common thermoplastic resin process way. PVDF resin, completely molten by screw stirring at a certain temperature, and then injected into the mold cavity under high pressure, after cooling and solidification, to shape product.
Generally, the injection pressure is 80–110 MPa, barrel temperature is 220–290℃, nozzle temperature is 180–260℃, mold temperature is 60–90℃, and the molding cycle is 40–60 seconds.

PVDF injection molding offers advantages such as high production efficiency, low labor intensity, good product appearance, and precise product dimensions. It is suitable for mass production and molding products with complex shapes.

PVDF injection molding processing cautions

 

Injection molding conditions are closely related to the product shape and the using resin grade. During process,the mold temperature should be high rather than low. A high mold temperature helps the material fill the mold, resulting in a better product appearance and lower internal stress in the product.

Molding pressure is related to mold design and product shape. Molding shrinkage is related to molding pressure and product wall thickness. Because PVDF melting viscosity and product shrinkage is high, screw pre-plasticizing injection molding machines are generally used. The length-to-diameter ratio is usually 20-24 and the compression ratio is 2-3.

Injection molds are generally made of high-quality steel. When designing them, the runner configuration should be balanced to ensure the material is evenly distributed in the mold. The shape of the runner should preferably be circular to ensure the stability of the product dimensions. A cold slug trap should also be installed at the end of the runner.
