FEP Injection Molding

FEP injection molding is a popular fluoroplastic process technique used to manufacture a variety of high-quality, high-precision functional parts. The working principle is to inject the fluoropolymer resin into a mold, allowing it to cool and harden into the desired shape.
Injection molding can precisely manufacture complex designs, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, from tiny parts to large and durable items, including packaging and bottle caps, automotive parts, spools, machine parts, valves, and impellers.

How is the processing of FEP injection molding?

Common problems and our suggestions about FEP injection molding

  • 01
Ensure the FEP raw material is dry and clean, to avoid impurities affecting product performance during processing.
  • 02
The injection molding machine is preheated to a suitable temperature, usually 280-300℃ of hopper, to ensure the FEP material can be fully melted.
  • 03
Preheating the mold with usually 80-120℃,to improve the crystallinity and surface quality of the processing product.
  • 04
Injection pressure, speed, and holding time must be strictly controlled to ensure uniform material filling of the mold cavity.
  • 05
In the cooling stage, optimizing the cooling pipe layout, shortening the molding cycle, meanwhile preventing internal stress and deformation in the product.
  • 06
The design of FEP injection molds is critical. It must ensure high precision, optimize runners to reduce melting flow resistance, and be equipped with efficient cooling and exhaust systems to guarantee product quality.
