Depending on the high melt index, FEP resin high speed extrusion is a popular processing technology, mainly used in the fields of wires and cables, pipes, and films.
Perfluoroethylene propylene (FEP) is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP).

Compared with PTFE, FEP has trifluoromethyl groups introduced into its side chains, which is equivalent to replacing some fluorine atoms with trifluoromethyl groups. The introduction disrupts the crystallinity of the chain, reduces viscosity, and allows FEP can be processed through thermoplastic resin processing methods.
FEP resin high speed extrusion is particularly suitable for insulation materials for small-diameter conductors. The insulator made of FEP has stable dielectric properties, low transmission attenuation, low signal loss, and minimal delay difference. It also performs well in terms of cable lifespan, high-frequency signal processing capabilities, and resistance to external interference.
FEP wire cable has light weight, high transmission speed, low loss, and energy efficiency properties.
It is widely used in transmission lines for electronic equipment operating at high temperatures and frequencies, internal connection line for computers, aerospace wire cables, high-speed local area network cabling systems in high-rise buildings, and other special-purpose installation cables, oilfield logging , and micro-motor lead wires.

It is a more economical choice for those applications where do not much require high stress cracking resistance. Especially used for high-speed extrusion small-caliber wire insulation materials.
