About ETFE resin

ETFE is a linear polymer formed by alternating copolymerization of ethylene monomer (CH₂=CH₂) and tetrafluoroethylene monomer (CF₂=CF₂) in a 1:1 molar ratio.
It retains the core advantages of fluoroplastics, such as weather resistance and corrosion resistance, while significantly optimizing mechanical properties and processability.
From a molecular structure perspective, ETFE resin has fluorine atoms uniformly wrapped around a carbon atom skeleton, forming a stable "protective layer" that allows it to resist extreme environments such as ultraviolet radiation, acid and alkali corrosion, and oxidation, meanwhile has excellent tensile strength and ductility.
Three core advantages of ETFE resin
① High light transmittance: Up to 95% light transmittance, comparable to glass, selectively allowing visible light from sunlight to pass through while blocking infrared and ultraviolet rays, providing both light transmission and heat insulation.
② Superior toughness: Density of only about 1.7g/cm³, greatly reducing structural load, tensile strength reaches 40-50MPa, it can withstand impacts from strong winds, hail, and other extreme weather conditions.
③ Extreme weather resistance: Outdoor service life of over 25 years, able to withstand extreme temperatures from -200℃ to 150℃, resistant to ultraviolet rays, acid rain, and chemical corrosion, with performance not diminishing under harsh environments.
Processing advantages of ETFE resin
ETFE has good thermoplasticity and can be molded through a variety of conventional processes such as welding, injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, powder coating and rotational lining. It can be made into a variety of products such as films, sheets, pipes, and profiles to meet the customized needs of different fields.
Application fields of ETFE resin
1.Architecture
Membrane structure architecture: As the core material of "air cushion membrane," it forms a closed unit after being filled with air, combining load-bearing and heat insulation functions.
Glass curtain wall alternative/supplement: Used for partial curtain walls and skylights in super high-rise buildings, reducing the building's self-weight while improving light transmission.

2.Industrial field
Corrosion-resistant pipes, valves, and seals: used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for conveying corrosive media such as strong acids and strong alkalis.

High-end greenhouse film: compared with traditional plastic film, ETFE film has more uniform light transmission and a longer outdoor service life.
